The Nebraska Society of Radiologic Technologists has a long tradition of recognizing individuals whose leadership, service, and dedication have strengthened the profession and advanced radiologic science in Nebraska. The Sister Francis Salesia Award and Guest Lecturer, presented during the Awards Luncheon, exists to honor this legacy and to recognize those who exemplify the values upon which the Society was founded.

Sister Francis Salesia was instrumental in the early development and foundation of the Nebraska Society of Radiologic Technologists. The Sister Francis Salesia Award was established to formally recognize individuals who demonstrate exceptional leadership, a passion for the radiation sciences, and a strong commitment to the education and development of future radiologic professionals. Recipients of this award reflect the same dedication to service, professionalism, and advancement of the profession that Sister Francis Salesia modeled throughout her life.

The accompanying guest lecture honors Sister Salesia’s belief in the power of education and shared knowledge. This lecture serves as an opportunity to inspire, reflect, and continue meaningful dialogue about the profession, its history, and its future.

In 2025, the NSRT Board of Directors further affirmed its commitment to honoring this legacy by approving the creation of a memorial video. This initiative was designed to preserve the rich history of the Society and the contributions of its foundational leaders, ensuring their stories are documented and accessible for future generations.
